REPORTS

Volunteers’ Thank You Meal

Exeter Vineyard is totally dependent on volunteers. The Charity Commission’s financial requirements mean, if everyone stopped donating money, we’d still be able to run for 3 or 4 months.

However, if volunteers stopped we’d have to close immediately. We have somewhere in the region of 70 people who volunteer to help make Exeter Vineyard happen - Sundays, Hubs, Crosslines, the trustees, kids work, youth and so on.

A quick calculation (I want to say back of the envelope, but it was too complicated for that, so I had to use a spreadsheet) indicates there is something like 3,449.5 person hours given per year (it’s such an exact number because I used a spreadsheet - but you get the idea!)

Anyway - this is all to say how much we appreciate our volunteers and so it was fantastic to invite them all for a thank you meal. Lots of people couldn’t make it but we still had a fair crowd!

Try Praying

A reminder about the Try Praying campaign on local buses, that we, along with a number of other churches, helped pay for.

We have lots of Try Praying booklets available at our Sunday Service if you want to take to give to a friend, neighbour or family member. These are a great 7-day experiment, inviting someone to pray and see what happens.

THE EXTRA SUNDAY

Sunday 29th June is a fifth Sunday - so we have a slightly different service. An hour of sung worship, with reflective and craft stations.

It’s a very relaxed time to focus on God and take some space to see what he might want to say to us.

There are hot drinks and snacks available during the service - but no breakfast time before the service.

10:15 to 11:15 am at St. Leonard’s Primary School, in the main hall.

SABBATICAL

Dave and Sarah are away from their duties from Monday 9th June until the end of July. This is the second half of their sabbatical. Please pray they will have a good rest and recharge.

In their absence, Adam P, Rachel C and Alan B are making sure everything continues as usual.
