Everyday Interruptions - 2. Jesus and the Rich Young Ruler
It’s easy to think that the amazing things Jesus did and said happened in religious settings - at the synagogue, in the temple, during formal teaching… but if we read the Gospels closely we see that so much happened when Jesus’ normal, everyday life was interrupted. Whether he was commuting, hanging out with friends, going for a stroll, at a dinner party or a wedding, Jesus was often interrupted and saw an opportunity to welcome the Kingdom of God into this interruption.
In this series we celebrate the fact that we all have normal, everyday lives - which means we can learn to notice when interruptions might be Kingdom opportunities.
Today Adam looks at the surgical precision of Jesus, cutting to the heart of the matter when he is interrupted by a very religious and very rich young man.
We think about what issues might be getting in between us and God.
