The Bible Course
We’re running The Bible Course in Hubs from September!
The course is from The Bible Society and takes a look at the whole Bible - helping us to understand the big picture, how it all fits together and how it points to Jesus. We think it will also really help us become more confident with the Bible.
The course has 8 sessions - each session is a video with a set of discussion questions. There is also a reading plan to read between sessions.
The accompanying guidebook - which is really good! - has loads of extra information, places you can make your own notes and ideas for reflection.
Also, if you have a friend or relative who is curious about the Bible you might want to invite them to join with the course.
Getting the most out of the Bible Course
Here are four things that will help you get the most out of the course:
Get Hold Of A Bible Course Guidebook
This takes you through the course, with extra information and space to jot down your own thoughts, ideas and perhaps even revelations.
The books cost £8 each, but we’re really happy for people to pay what they can. We’d rather you had the book (if you’re going to use it) than not taking one because of the cost.
We will have these available at the Sunday service and possibly through Hub leaders. If you miss these opportunities get in touch and we’ll get a book to you.Sign Up For The Digital Hub
In the Digital Hub you can access the reading plan and catch up on any videos you have missed. The sign up page is here or click “Access the full course” on the Bible Society’s homepage.
Follow The Reading Plan
Going through the whole Bible in 8 sessions will be a whirlwind trip, so these passages help you get a better sense of the story unfolding.
Normally the plan would be daily, but because we’re running the course fortnightly you have extra grace not to fall behind!
Do It With Others
We will be running this in Hubs. This means we can benefit from other people’s thoughts and experiences and help them with ours.
If you’re not in a Hub, perhaps now would be a good time to join one? Talk to Dave or someone you know who is already in a Hub. You can also check out our Hubs on this page.
Of course, you can still do the course on your own or with friends by accessing the material in the Bible Society’s Digital Hub.
