Young People

Young people are fully members of Exeter Vineyard - just as we’re members of our family the moment we’re born.

We love having a multigenerational church and want to help young people discover Jesus for themselves and explore what being a disciple means at all ages.

We don’t want children to experience church only when they’re off in their own special activities. For example, Hubs are often made up of families, with children of all ages fully part of the Hubs, and we love this aspect. There are numerous social studies showing the benefit of young people knowing adults outside of their direct family.

However we do create and prioritise special activities for young people where they get to develop their friendships and take part in age appropriate activities.

  • Little Stars & Launch

These are our groups for pre-School and Primary School children - from zero to about 12 years old.

At our Sunday Service they have a session that usually involves fun, craft, discussion and prayer around a Biblical idea.

  • Elevate

Elevate is for Secondary School and college aged students - so from 12 to 18.

At the Sunday Service they have a session that allows them to think about and discuss relevant issues.

Once a month on a Saturday evening there is a sort of ‘youth club’, which involves dinner, games and often a way to think about faith.

  • Youth Hub

This is for young people in school year 10 and above. It is led by Shaun and Libby and meets fortnightly on a Wednesday evening.

In the past they have done Youth Alpha, the Bible Course and Bible studies together.

  • Messy Church

Messy Church is a fun and creative expression of church that is especially suitable for young families.

Looking at a passage in the Bible, there are a series of craft stations to explore the theme. We sing together, listen to a short talk and then have lunch. Also there’s really good coffee and cake!

This happens once a month on a Saturday morning at the Beacon Centre. It’s especially good for families who might not normally go to church.
